Here is your Friday story,

Today I Will Make A Difference

Today I will make a difference. I will begin by controlling my thoughts. A person is the product of his thoughts. I want to be happy and hopeful. Therefore, I will have thoughts that are happy and hopeful. I refuse to be victimized by my circumstances. I will not let petty inconveniences such as stoplights, long lines, and traffic jams be my masters. I will avoid negativism and gossip. Optimism will be my companion, and victory will be my hallmark. Today I will make a difference.

I will be grateful for the twenty-four hours that are before me. Time is a precious commodity. I refuse to allow what little time I have to be contaminated by self-pity, anxiety, or boredom. I will face this day with the joy of a child and the courage of a giant. I will drink each minute as though it is my last. When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever. While it is here, I will use it for loving and giving. Today I will make a difference.

I will not let past failures haunt me. Even though my life is scarred with mistakes, I refuse to rummage through my trash heap of failures. I will admit them. I will correct them. I will press on. Victoriously. No failure is fatal. It's OK to stumble...I will get up. It's OK to fail...I will rise again. Today I will make a difference.

I will spend time with those I love. My spouse, my children, my family. A man can own the world but be poor for the lack of love. A man can own nothing and yet be wealthy in relationships. Today I will spend at least five minutes with the significant people in my world. Five quality minutes of talking or hugging or thanking or listening. Five undiluted minutes with my mate, children, and friends.

Today I will make a difference.

This is what the "Let's Be Friends" Award represents:
These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award. I also pass this award on to;

Overcoming obstacles

Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside them was superior to circumstances

"We cannot expect to change human nature overnight. If at first we don’t succeed, never give up. Don’t waste time feeling guilty, but instead just reassert you intention to try again. Steady perseverance is the key. This is especially important for habits like excessive worry or anger. It takes time to overcome this kind of habit. Rather than expecting an immediate change we should seek to make gradual process in reducing our bad habits."

It is vital to cultivate a sense of self-worth and self-respect. If we do not have faith in ourselves how can we have faith in anyone else? Self-belief should not be equated with arrogance or pride. We are seeking to cultivate a sense of self respect so we are at peace with ourselves. We are often our worst critic, sometimes we ignore genuine faults but worry excessively over minor issues that aren’t really faults. We need to learn from our mistakes and be honest with our weaknesses but it should not be at a cost of putting ourselves down. If we make a mistake learn to let go, don’t keep the negative memory at the forefront of your mind. If we can have a good feeling about ourselves it will be very easy to have a good feeling about others and the rest of the world.
by Tejvan Pettinger -

"The difference between great people and everyone else is that great people create their lives actively, while everyone else is created by their lives, passively waiting to see where life takes them next. The difference between the two is the difference between living fully and just existing."
Michael E. Gerber

Life is about choices and commitment... It is a great gift...
To be able to give to others...
To help make the world a better place...

Be gentle with yourself in this Life...
Know that you also need to be able to ask for and receive help...

But live your Life passionately...
Keeping your center and balance...

Have faith that through living in and by... trust and love...
Happiness will come out of all circumstances...
This requires willingness and openness...
On your part to see all the possibilities of Life...

The most important thing in Life is...
Human warmth and affection...

How simple... how wise... how human...
Can we be a little kinder... a little gentler...
More loving to those around us...

The meaning of Life... to give to others...
The purpose of Life... to benefit others and the self...

Don’t keep thinking of what happened yesterday and what is going to happen tomorrow. Live in the moment and every situation will seem like the time of your life.

"Your time is limited; don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinion drowned your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

~ Steve Jobs

This is my wish for you:

“Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.”

"Make each day useful and cheerful and prove that you know the worth of time by employing it well. Then youth will be happy, old age without regret and life a beautiful success."
Louisa May Alcott
1832-1888, Author

Values are those things that really matter to each of us ... the ideas and beliefs we hold as special, not something you want or would like to have.
Caring for others, for example, is a value; so is the freedom to express our opinions.

A value is a principle desirable to you. Values are personal. They are your convictions, your beliefs, and your ethics rolled into one.

Living in agreement with one's values is fulfilling. Living in conflict with one's values is stressful and dissatisfying. That's why it is so important to clearly understand your own personal code of values; your happiness depends upon not only knowing your values, but living in accordance with them.

Be Stress Free

Stress does not result from hard work, long hours, or multiple roles in life. Stress results from values conflicts. When put in a situation where you are unable to honor a value, you will feel stressed out. No amount of relaxation, meditation, or exercise will eliminate the stress until the values conflict is resolved.

Living Your Purpose
Why is it important to understand your own personal values? Values are linked to purpose in life. You might say that your purpose is to live your values. When you do, life is good.

"Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul; the blue prints of your ultimate achievements."

Napoleon Hill
1883-1970, Author of Think and Grow Rich

Living by Emulating the Sea

66th Verse
Why is the sea king of a hundred streams?
Because it lies below them
Humility give it its power.

Therefore, those desiring a position
above others must speak humbly.
Those desiring to lead must follow.

Thus it is that when a sage stand above the people,
they do not feel the heaviness of his weight;
and when he stands in front of the people,
they do not feel hurt.

The sage stays low
so the world never tires of exalting him.
He remains a servant
so the world never tires of making him its king.

I have been reading "Change Your THOUGHTS- Change YOUR Life" - By Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
and I wanted to share this Powerful Message with you!

Never assume that you know what's best.

Even if you're older, wiser, and richer than others and have more influence and power than they do, never assume that you know what's best for anyone. Instead, imagine yourself as the great ocean that allows and encourages the smaller streams to come to you. Stay low, speak softly, and remain humble- and let others be in control of their lives as much as is humanly possible. By seeing yourself as the all-receiving sea, you remove your ego from the picture and thus become like one of the leaders referred to in this verse of the Tao Te Ching. No one should feel the heaviness of you directions or be hurt by your instructions.

Dedicate a day to leading by serving, as opposed to giving orders. Find occasions to stifle your learned habit of interfering and telling others what to do , and allow them to flow to you instead. Commit to this principle further by encouraging someone
to make the decision rather than following your orders.
